Canoe Tripping Level 2

Description: This course is intended for those with some experience canoe tripping. It provides the opportunity to improve tripping skills under more challenging conditions. The goal is to make you comfortable with organizing and participating in canoe tripping without professional guide support in wilderness settings. The course is conducted while on a three day river trip and stresses canoe trip organization, safety, and introduces the fundamental concepts of leadership, risk and crisis management. Coaching in canoe paddling skills will also be a part of the trip daily routine. Moving water skills are not essential. Kayakers are also invited to take this course, though they will be expected to spend some time paddling a canoe to demonstrate their canoe paddling skills.
