Petawawa River

Lake Traverse to McManus Lake – 3 to 5 days

The Crooked Chute

The Petawawa River has been called "The Jewel of Ontario" The rich beauty of the landscape, the mix of Class 1 to 3 rapids with serene flatwater sections, make this one of my favorite paddling destinations. Indeed, I will often do this section of the river many times a year on personal trips.

Located in the Northeast sector of Algonquin Provincial Park, accessed through Sand Lake gate, this 40 km stretch of the river offers a spectacular trip for all skill levels.
