Palmer Rapids to Griffith – 4 to 5 days

Well known to Ontario white water paddlers, the three distinct sections of the Madawaska River are becoming popular training runs. The lower section of this river runs from Palmer Rapids on Highway 515, and is a waterway Provincial Park beginning just beyond Latchford Bridge continuing down to Griffith located on Highway 41. Our trip covers approximately 41 km of river and includes some 12 rapids and two falls, all of which can be portaged. An intermediate level of moving water skills will eliminate the need for many of the portages.
